Book Blitz : One Great Year by Tamara Veitch and Rene DeFazio #giveaway

Welcome to the Book Blitz for One Great Year by Tamara Veitch and Rene DeFazio! One Great Year is a metaphysical fantasy that is an epic, thought-provoking tale of reincarnation, love, and the struggle of good against evil.

One Great Love, One Great Adventure, One Great Year

By Tamara Veitch DeFazio and Rene DeFazio

Magic happens. Sometimes as writers we are amazed where the story takes us and the lessons we learn along the way. As we researched for our novel we came across an ancient mystery that evoked such wonder in us that we asked ourselves “why isn’t the whole world talking about this?”

We were fascinated by what is known as The Great Year Cycle; a naturally occurring phenomenon written about in thirty-oneancient cultures from China to Mexico. Plato called it the Great Year, the Mayan’s called it the Grand Cycle and in India it has been known as the Yugas for more than five thousand years.

It is common knowledge that the spin of the Earth gives us night and day and the rotation of the earth around the Sun gives us the four seasons, but there is more! There is a ‘wobble’ in the rotation that takes approximately 26, 000 years, composing one Great Year. Like the seasons in a year, the Great Year is divided in to four phases: the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. These periods are characterized by a rise and fall in human consciousness. In the Golden Age human consciousness experiences full enlightenment and then declines through the ages losing consciousness and causing destruction, war and disconnect.

We weave these secrets through the extraordinary lifetimes of our characters and consider: what if reincarnation is real? Marcus has past life memory and his soul mate Theron does not. As the Dark Age climaxes our hero leads the way in ensuring the ascension toward the Golden Age but he is not alone. Hisarch enemy Helghul and the other Adversaries have devastating plans for the world and are determined to expand the darkness, fear and doubt indefinitely. One Great Year makes a quantum leap, weaving ancient wisdom, modern discoveries and an alternative world history together creating a dynamic novel series.

One Great Year is an award winning fantasy novel that has been optioned for Hollywood development. The second book in The Great Year Series is due for release in early 2016. We want to thank all of our readers for their amazing posts, emails, reviews and support. We cannot wait to share Book II in The Great Year Series. If you haven’t read One Great Year yet, don’t wait! People keep telling us “You will read it when you are ready.” Are you ready?

About the Book:
An epic, thought-provoking tale of reincarnation, love, and the struggle of good against evil.

As the world descends from a Golden Age into darkness and brutality, Marcus has been reincarnated an exhausting number of times. Selected to become an Emissary, it is his duty to protect the ancient secrets. His adventure is heightened because he secretly consumes a serum that allows him to have memory from one lifetime to the next. In doing so, he sets himself up for thousands of years of torment, loneliness, and searching.

Desperate to never forget his soulmate, Theron, and never sure if he was truly meant to be an Emissary, Marcus struggles through lifetimes to overcome his cruel and powerful nemesis, Helghul.

Fusing the adventure of Indiana Jones with the introspection and wisdom of Eckhart Tolle, One Great Year takes readers on an epic journey through history, following characters who are born and reborn as they struggle to triumph over evil.

Author Guest Post by THE GUILD OF ASSASSINS's Anna Kashina

Kinky Vanilla Romance is pleased to share The Guild of Assassins by Anna Kashina. The cover of the book caught my eye immediately. I'd like to think that I could have been a warrior in another life. Of course, I'd be a Diamond assassin in the Majat world ;-) I hope that you enjoy the peek into warrior ranks in the Majat Guild.

Warrior Ranks in the Majat Guild

(by Anna Kashina)

Thank you very much for hosting my blog post. I appreciate this opportunity to talk about the Majat Code series and my newest novel “The Guild of Assassins”.

In “The Guild of Assassins”, a large part of the events revolves around the Majat Guild, a fortress that trains warriors for high-level mercenary services.  The value of the Majat warriors is not only in their exceptional combat skill, but also in their full political neutrality. They have no loyalties to anyone except their own Code. And this means, once a Majat warrior is hired, he or she will not deviate from the contract, and cannot be bribed or swayed to change sides. A prototype for this type of warriors actually existed in Europe: Swiss guards, hired for protection by many European monarchs, and still composing the ceremonial guard in the Vatican.

The Majat warriors all train together since childhood, but much as it happens in sports, some are better than others, and some show tendency for a particular type of weapon. When their training is complete, they undergo a ranking, which is equivalent to graduation and signifies their transition to the warrior status. Majat warrior’s ranks are a direct reflection of their fighting skill, driving their assignments, and ultimately, their price. Perhaps not surprisingly, the Majat tend to think of these warriors in terms of the money they bring to the Guild. For this reason, they equal their warrior ranks to gems. There are five: Jades, Emeralds, Sapphires, Rubies, and Diamonds.

Jades and Emeralds specialize in internal security, favoring ranged weapons and comprising the Majat Guildmaster’s personal guards. The other three ranks, as well as some of the non-Gem warriors, go out on assignments, for pay.

Rubies and Diamonds are the best. Accordingly, they cost a fortune to hire, so that common people can rarely afford one. They are used mostly for running assignments for the high nobles, and more often than not, these assignments require assassination of a rival or someone who stands in the way. Thus, in common speech, people refer to Diamonds as “assassins”, and the Majat Guild became known as “The Guild of Assassins”.

In my novel, two top-level Diamond assassins, Kara and Mai, go against their orders and must face the ensuing actions from the Guild. All this is orchestrated by a powerful enemy, who is acting behind the scenes with a goal of bringing about the downfall of the Majat Guild--the only power that stands in their way of usurping the kingdom. My book has lots of action, adventure, and romance, and is set in an intricately built world that draws on the history of Medieval Europe, Middle East, and the Orient. I hope readers enjoy it, along with its prequel, “Blades of the Old Empire”, which has been released earlier this year.

Synopsis

Ever since I can remember, I’ve had strange dreams that always came true, and experienced terrifying powers that set me apart from everyone else.

It’s not until my eighteenth birthday do I begin to understand what those dreams mean. When my grandfather is attacked and left for dead, I am thrust into the Otherworld—a medieval-like land of beautiful immortals with amazing gifts. One of these immortals has stolen the key between the realms, and it is up to me, Brynne Davies, the next gatekeeper, to reach the key before the power struggle that exists in the Otherworld occurs on earth.

Complicating my task are the members of the Royal House of Parthas, especially the king’s brother, the handsome Murdoc, Warlord of the king’s army, and then there’s the charming Fae prince who seems to always be one step ahead of me.

Time is running out for me to find the key and close the door. If I don’t, the world I left will never be the same…because of me.

Author Bio
I wrote my first young adult novel over ten years ago, and took a slight detour from writing YA to publish nineteen adult romances. Now, I'm following my heart and writing in the genre I've been passionate about for so long, and about characters who don't exactly fit into any specific box. Aside from writing and reading, I'm obsessed with history, love research, traveling, and riding motorcycles with my hubby, my first and only love, who stole my heart when I was fourteen and he was eighteen (yes, he robbed the cradle). I am also a medium, which gives me a unique perspective when writing about the paranormal and characters like Riley, who can see, hear, and feel spirits.
I'm passionate about books, and I'll never tire of writing love stories.
